The real-time lossless audio compressor TTA known as The True Audio codec is used to compress audio data by use of prognostic filters. It is able to compress multichannel wave files regardless of whether they are 8,16 or 24bit, ID3v1 and ID3v2 Tags are supported.
Files used by the codec have the .tta file extension, these files have a header that consists of a format identifier, then a meta-data block then a 32bit control sum, after the header there are one or more audio frames these are all ended by a 32bit control sum.
