Subtitle files that are used for DVDs or Video usually use the file extension SRT.
These files contain plain text which is formatted, for Time the format of Hours:Minutes:Second and Milliseconds is used, the Subtitles are numbered starting at 1.
Here is the format used
Subtitle number
Start time --> End time
Text of subtitle (one or more lines)
Blank line
An example would be
