Microsoft Powerpoint is a presentation program developed by Microsoft and is part of the Microsoft Office suite of programs. Powerpoint uses a series of slides as a slide show which can contain text, graphics and movies and are used in business and learning areas, either as a way to brief employees or as a learning aid.

Presentation slide shows created by Powerpoint use the extension .pps, this has since been superseded in versions from 2007 onwards by .ppsx.
