The .amv file extension is often used for video playback device´s in Asia and is known as a MTV Movie File.

The files are based on AVI files and usally use resolutions of 94x64 up to 160x120 so that they fit in the screens of the playback device´s.

The differences to AVI files is that the header has been replaced with useless information.
