Canon produce digital cameras alongside the other Devices for Computer, printing and imaging. High end cameras such Digital Single Reflex Cameras (DSLR) and high end point and shoot cameras support the use of RAW files.
These files which use the file extension .crw can be described as a digital negative where the shot taken is stored as is by the camera and can later be processed using either Software from Canon or specialised programs such Adobe Photoshop CS5 etc.
RAW files are based on the ISO standard ISO 12234-2, TIFF/EP and usually contain.

Most camera manufacturers use there own RAW format though all are based to some degree on the Tiff format.
